The interior work on this project included reworking the existing showroom floor plan (relocating a restroom and removal of various partitions), new floor finishes, and new furniture. The exterior work on the project consisted of new exterior surface to the showroom constructed with architectural horizontal metal panels and an aluminum composite metal panel system, a new vehicle canopy, a new entry tower (visible to I-94 traffic), and custom Ford-Lincoln signage. Construction began in December of 2016 on a 41,474 square foot warehouse expansion of Alro Steel’s existing facility, increasing the total area of the Charlotte facility to 121,821 square feet. The addition consists of a pre engineered steel structure supported on a reinforced concrete foundation. Existing foundations at the interface between the existing and new buildings where modified to accommodate increased loading from the new structure. O’Harrow Construction Company has completed construction of the $583,000 CP Federal City Square. The structure, built to house the historic Glidden Parker mural, is the centerpiece of the new Horace Blackman Park in downtown Jackson. The unique structure incorporates a stage for performances, amphitheatre style seating, a space for a rotating art exhibit and the glass mural. The 9 foot by 28 foot mural was commissioned for the Consumers Power Company (now Consumers Energy) headquarters. The addition consists of a pre engineered steel structure supported on a reinforced concrete foundation. The exterior walls of the addition use an 8’ tall strip of decorative industrial resistant masonry below panel rib metal siding. Construction of this 81,000 square foot state of the art complex for Alro Steel began in April of 2015. The new facility consists of warehouse and office space and is located on a 14 acre parcel of land within the city limits of Tulsa. The site, utilities, and building are designed to meet the owner’s current needs with provisions for future expansion. The warehouse area consists of high bays with an eave height of 44’. This project was selected as an Engineers Without Borders-USA 2011 Premier Project. Thrush Engineering, Inc. performed voluntary efforts for the analysis and design for this single span box concrete structure capable of supporting school busses and emergency vehicles over a rainy season, high volume, high velocity waterway. Form design utilizing timber posts, cribbing and planking for walls and elevated horizontal slabs was also a part of this project. Scott M. Gillett, P.E., Vice President of Engineering recently obtained registration as a Professional Engineer in the states of New York, North Carolina and Kansas. O’Harrow Construction/Thrush Engineering is now authorized to design projects in 15 states. Scott has a degree in Civil Engineering from Tri-State University and has been a Licensed Professional Engineer in various states for 28 years.
Facilities for Swan Steel were recently upgraded. The upgrades included a building enclosure of an area adjacent to the existing steel shop building (adding 9600 square feet additional space) and adding a new 10 ton high speed overhead crane. The new 10 ton crane replaced a 3 ton unit and will increase overall efficiency of Swan Steel’s operations. In house structural engineering was performed to assure the existing structure could accept the new heavier crane loads.
Maxx Marriott has been appointed Safety Director. Maxx works with Project Managers and Supervisors to help ensure jobsite safety and compliance with the current OSHA/MIOSHA standards. Maxx has a degree in Architectural Construction Technology from Baker College of Jackson and has been employed by O’Harrow Construction for 18 years.

Permits & Documents
Decades of experience in zoning assistance, site plan review and approval. We obtain all necessary construction permits and create site and building drawings, project specifications and as-built drawings.
O'Harrow controls the job site, all labor, materials and equipment. We direct contracts with all suppliers and subcontractors. Material testing, special inspections and regular job coordination meetings.
